The Institute for Youth Sustainability Leadership (IYSL) recently relaunched the “Sustain the Sustainability” Series with our workshop, “Mental Health and Wellness: Building Resilience,” in partnership with the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). This event took place on November 21 in Room D503 at The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong.
Facilitated by Bakar Fariha Salma Deiya, this workshop focused on building awareness and skills related to mental health. Participants learned how to recognize and respond to mental health challenges, empowering them to support others effectively.
Throughout the session, students engaged in practical exercises designed to enhance communication skills and empathy. This interactive approach not only provided valuable insights but also fostered a supportive atmosphere where students could share experiences and learn from one another.
The workshop aimed to create reliable sources of support within the community, encouraging a culture of care and understanding. By equipping individuals with essential skills, we hope to promote mental wellness and resilience among youth and beyond.
We thank everyone who joined us for this impactful workshop and look forward to continuing our efforts in building a more supportive community. Stay tuned for more workshops in the “Sustain the Sustainability” Series!
