On November 28th, the Institute for Youth Sustainability Leadership (IYSL) hosted the second workshop in the “Sustain the Sustainability” Series, titled “Stress Busters: Staying Mindful.” This workshop took place at The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK) and was co-organized with the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) as part of The Jockey Club Shining Together with Cross-Cultural Youth Project.
Facilitated by Bakar Fariha Salma Deiya, and led by a certified wellness and mindfulness instructor, Dr. Faisal (HKUST), the workshop aimed to build awareness and knowledge around mental health, while providing practical skills for managing stress.
Participants engaged in a variety of activities designed to enhance emotional well-being, including:
- Gentle Stretching and Breathing Exercises: These practices helped participants relax and focus on their breath.
- Creative Mindfulness Practices: Attendees explored mindful drawing and writing as tools for self-expression and relaxation.
- Integration of Mindfulness into Daily Life: Participants learned how to incorporate mindfulness techniques into their everyday routines, promoting resilience and inner peace.
Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to a supportive and nurturing environment. We look forward to more workshops in the future that promote mental health awareness and well-being.
