Cultural Talk: SDGs as Global Language

Lee Yick Hoi Lun Mosaic College will hold a cultural talk in October (co-organized by The Institute of Youth Sustainability Leadership (IYSL) and Centre for Public Policy Research). The topic is SDGs as global language.

SDGs — Sustainable Development Goals — are the universal goals for global development by 2030 outlined by the United Nations after rounds of debates and negotiations. Pursuing for common ground amid diversity, SDGs have become a global language conveying transborder visions for our well-being and sustainability. How are SDGs apprehended in varying socio-cultural contexts? Could such visions produce genuine social change, or another set of sublime empty words for labelling?

We are honored to invite Mr. Ivan Siu-lun CHU (朱兆麟 先生), Co-founder of Hong Kong Sustainable Development Research Institute (SDRI) as our speaker. Mr. Chu has been engaging with policy advocacy and marketing for sustainable development and other social goals for decades. He is both a visionary idealist and a practical policy lobbyist.
